Toll Roads
The ultimate goal of the Texas Department of Transportation's 2002 Central Texas Turnpike System is to relieve congestion to I-35 and surrounding roads within Travis & Williamson counties.  It is estimated to cost a total of $3.6 billion and consists of 3 major parts:

-SH-30 - a 4 lane, 49 mile tollway east of I-35 that runs from north of Georgetown to US 183 in southeast Travis County.

-SH 45 North - a 4 to 6 lane, 13 mile tollway with limited frontage roads extending from Ridgeline Boulevard west of US 183 to SH 130

- Loop 1 - a 6 lane, 3 mile tollway with limited frontage roads extending from Parmer Lane to SH 45 North

Helpful Driving Hints!

-Mopac and Loop are one in the same

-Sixth Street runs east to west and crosses under Loop 1.  Once you've crossed under Loop 1, Sixth Street becomes Lake Austin Blvd.

-Highway 71 (from airport into town) is also known as Ben White and eventually will take you to Capital of Tx Hwy

-Capital of Tx Hwy is the same as Loop 360 (which is not a true loop all the way around Austin.  It is more of a half loop.)

-Highway 183 is the same as Research Blvd - near the Arboretum area in Central/Northwest Austin.

-FM 2244 is also known as Bee Caves Raod and is just south of Downtown.  It is an exit off of Loop 1/Mopac just south of downtown.

-FM 2222 runs between I-35 and Mopac and changes names several times.  It also runs from Mopac to RR 620 and takes you to Lakeway.

-FM 2222 is also knows as Allandale, Keoning Lane, and Northland.

-Lamar Blvd runs almost striaght through the city north and south.  Between 1st through 15th Streets, it is known as Lamar Blvd.  South of The River, it is South Lamar.  North of 35th Street (or about 35th Street), Lamar becomes North Lamar!

-'The River' refers to the Colorado River which runs through our downtown area and is dubbed Town Lake.  Many people refer to north or south of 'The River'.
